Joined by 20 exchange students from our partner institutions – Università degli Studi di Udine (Italy), University of South-Eastern Norway (Norway), University of Ioannina (Greece), our long-term partner University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), and our ATHENA partner Instituto Politécnico do Porto (Portugal) – undergraduates worked intensively on evidence-based practice in health professions.
Keynote speaker Martin Fangmeyer, Head of the Evidence-based Information Center for Caregivers, shared his expertise on interprofessional collaboration and communication. Throughout the week in Carinthia, student teams addressed issues related to the fundamentals and key competencies of evidence-based practice. International insights and expertise were brought by professors from the aforementioned partner institutions.
In addition to the rigorous academic content, the group enjoyed an afternoon at Lake Wörthersee and admired the picturesque panorama of the mountains from Pyramidenkogel.
Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) are innovative educational initiatives that combine online and in-person learning experiences. They were introduced in the Erasmus+ Program 2021-27 and facilitate international collaboration by bringing together students and faculty from various institutions to work on intensive projects. BIPs offer a unique opportunity to engage in diverse cultural and academic exchanges while leveraging the flexibility of virtual learning and the benefits of face-to-face interaction. By participating in BIPs, students gain valuable skills and insights that enhance their educational journey and global perspective.
