- apply good scientific writing and style principles to their reports, know the format of a scientific paper, the process of peer review and are skilled in the art of professional presentation in front of an academic or industrial audience;
 - are knowledgeable concerning key concepts, instruments and methods for structural time and resource project planning;
 - are able to use basic management tools for discussion and moderation within learning and project teams;

- structure of a scientific argument;
 - evidence, reasons, warrants and claims;
 - elements of a manuscript/paper;
 - citing references;
 - publishing and review process;
 
- basic structure for delivering effective presentations;
 - presenting through voice, body language and audience engagement;
 - use visual aids;
 
- initiation process;
 - project charter and project boundaries;
 - scope planning, time scheduling;
 - resource and cost planning;
 - project organization and task distribution;
 - overview of risk management in projects;
 - start-up process;
