By the end of this course the students should:
understand the main legal issues that need to be considered when employing people in different countries
identify international employment standards and country-specific differences in labour law
gain knowledge about the institutions and instruments for setting and complying to international labour standards
relate the legal rules regarding international employment and labour law to practical challenges in international HR management

This course provides a basic overview of international labor and employment standards and the main labour-related legal issues to be considered in international HR management. Specifically, the course includes the following topics:

International labour and employment standards (including the role of the International Labor Organization)
Setting and enforcing international labour standards
International regulations for employment anti-discrimination (including the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities)
Individual employment rights
Identifying country-specific employment regulations
EU Labour Law
Collective labour law, labour relations, work councils and unions in an international context
