    • Development environment in coordination with the client; implementation and testing of a planar Lagrangian cable element within the framework of the Finite Element Method (FEM); coupling a vehicle (physical pendulum) to a cable node using the Lagrangian multiplier method (Method A) and by eliminating redundant degrees of freedom (Method B).
    • Adaptation of an ALE (Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian) approach for the discretization of the cable: Lagrangian nodes transport the cable mass and serve as attachment points for the vehicles; Eulerian nodes are used to redirect the cable at fixed pulleys.
    • Design of a model system with periodic boundary conditions consisting of a circulating cable with multiple attached vehicles (physical pendulums), which is redirected at several fixed pulleys while considering friction in the pulley bearings; numerical tests and parameter studies based on this model system.
