At Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS), the Project Management (PM) module stands as a cornerstone of the BA-level business curriculum. Designed to bridge theoretical knowledge and practical application, this program offers 4th-semester business students an opportunity to implement real-world projects in collaboration with industry partners. By working directly with companies, students gain hands-on experience, building essential skills for their future careers.

Learning from Global Leaders
To enrich the learning experience and highlight the global scope of project management, CUAS frequently invites international PM experts to engage with students. Recently, we had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Edoardo Favari, PhD, PMP, ENV-SP, SSBB—a distinguished project management consultant from Milan, Italy.

Dr. Favari’s session offered students a deep dive into:

  • The Consulting Process: Insights into managing client relationships and navigating the complexities of PM consulting.
  • PM Certifications: Guidance on certifications such as the PMI (Project Management Institute) and IPMA (International Project Management Association), which are critical for aspiring project managers.
  • International Stakeholder Management: Strategies for building and sustaining strong relationships, a vital skill for successful consultants.

His career journey provided inspiration and clarity, showing students the diverse opportunities available in international business and project management.

Empowering Future Professionals
The Project Management module at CUAS equips students with not just academic knowledge but also the practical insights needed to excel in the professional world. Guest lectures like Edoardo’s are a testament to CUAS’s dedication to preparing students for impactful careers.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Edoardo Favari for sharing his expertise and inspiring the next generation of business leaders. These international interactions provide invaluable learning opportunities and highlight CUAS’s emphasis on global engagement in education.
This Austrian-Italian cross-border exchange of knowledge was made possible by the support of Prof. Martina Huemann.

Strategic Integration into Curriculum
This activity was implemented under the "Real World Experience" RWE framework, part of the School of Management’s Strategy at CUAS.  Organized within "International Consulting" course, offered in the 5th semester of the Intercultural Management BA program (ICM), taught by FH-prof. Dr. Svetlana Buko, School of Management Vice Dean for Internationalization.
