Created by four students from the new Digital Marketing and Sales bachelor’s program—Nina Gfrerer, Sophie Moncaleano, Claudia Garcia Verdecia, and Juli Japaridze—Between Classes is a space where students can share their stories, reflect on their experiences, and spark connection across the FH Kärnten community.

A Podcast by Students, for Students

Available to watch on YouTube and listen to on Spotify, Between Classes takes a relaxed and conversational approach. Each episode introduces a central theme and unfolds as a friendly dialogue, often including real quotes and stories gathered from fellow students.

The first episode centered on the theme of culture shocks—from unusual Austrian traditions like Krampuslauf to the surprisingly early closing hours of local grocery stores, Between Classes gave voice to the challenges and joys of adapting to life in Austria. The second episode tackled the topic of stress, work/life balance, and mental health, and featured the podcast’s first guest—a DMS student representative, Sonia Moncaleano, who joined the hosts to share her personal experiences navigating academic pressures, time management, and self-care as a student leader.  

With a new episode released every month, the team plans to continue diving into topics that matter most to students, always with the goal of fostering a sense of community and shared understanding.

Connecting Through Conversation

The idea for the podcast grew naturally out of group conversations—chats between classmates that revealed a desire to create something meaningful, engaging, and inclusive. The hosts hope Between Classes can be a bridge between local and international students, offering everyone a chance to feel heard and connected.

“We’re building something for our peers—something fun, honest, and hopefully helpful,” said one of the hosts. “We want people to listen and feel like they’re part of the conversation.”

As the Digital Marketing & Sales program continues to develop, Between Classes showcases the creativity, initiative, and collaborative spirit that students bring to FH Kärnten. It’s a reminder that some of the most impactful learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom—it also happens between classes.
