The International Business Management (IBM) master´s program is also known for its exciting study trips which allow students to get in touch with practicing managers in internationally active companies both in Austria and abroad. Excursions are even organized in times of Covid restrictions – in a virtual but also highly engaging and interactive format.

For the second time in this winter semester, the first semester IBM master students made a virtual excursion visit to two highly successful multinational companies on November 12th, 2020 – this time in our neighboring country Slovenia. The excursion was organized by Katarina Gutownig-Fürst, Senior Lecturer at CUAS and Dietmar Sternad, the Program Director of the International Business Management master´s program.
The first visit was made to one of the leading global players in the pharmaceutical industry, NOVARTIS, which has a strong operational base in different locations in Slovenia. The IBM students met with Dr. Darja Fercej-Temeljotov, Head of Strategic Programs, Tanja Sinigoj, Head Diversity and Inclusion at NOVARTIS Slovenia and Luka Lamut, HR Site Head, and gained deep insights into a company with a very positive organizational culture and a strong commitment to supporting the next generation of employees as well as students on their growth path.

The second visit at KOLEKTOR Ventures, the corporate venture capital fund of the Slovenian multinational KOLEKTOR, provided further insights into one of the most innovative companies in the region. Managing Director Mateja Lavrič and Advisor Stanislava Vabšek generously shared their knowledge and experiences with a highly engaged student audience.
