Civil Engineering, Architecture & Sustainable Real Estate Management
Our study programs
The faculty in Civil Engineering & Architecture, Sustainable Real Estate Management stands for a practice-oriented education in the very broad, incredibly diverse and fascinating professional field of construction.
From vision to added value
In shaping our built world, the vision, the design, the technical solution, the practical implementation as well as the life cycle and its added value and its impact on our environment are equally valuable and important to us. We educate critically thinking and responsibly acting people with specialization in architecture, civil engineering and real estate and infrastructure project development. We promote the interaction of these disciplines. The expertise of the respective other faculties is only a door handle away on the Spittal campus and thus accessible to all students. Due to the close connection with practice, current impulses for teaching and research are constantly generated.
Range of courses
The faculty offers the following study and continuing education programs:

7 good reasons
for a "civil engineering & architecture" study at CUAS:
Creating synergies between the professional fields of architecture and civil engineering not only means studying under one roof, but also starting networking on a personal level, developing joint projects and learning from each other.
Projects and implementations on a 1:1 scale link the theory taught with practice and the lecture hall with reality.
Creating living space is the most original task of architecture. The emphasis is on improving the living environment through building, social responsibility and an overall sustainable way of thinking. Projects on socially relevant topics give students an attitude that contributes to the peaceful coexistence of an increasingly heterogeneous society.
More and more people are moving to cities. Migration of rural areas is the consequence. We are on the spot and focus on regional development strategies, rural building culture, materials and crafts as well as regional value chains.
In the course of the studies numerous excursions are carried out: Cultural tours of buildings, building site visits, exhibitions, congresses, trade fairs and company visits in Germany and abroad are part of our training. The highlight of each course is a one-week architectural excursion.
Exhibitions and lectures convey new perspectives and approaches and broaden the horizon. Experts from teaching and practice and well-known architecture exhibitions complement the semester program at Spittal Campus with new perspectives and content.
The practical relevance of the study program is supported by an excellent FH network. This ranges from local building culture creators to architectural institutions operating throughout Europe.

Campus & Arrival
Spittal an der Drau stands out
The comedy town of Spittal in the Carinthian Oberland with its 16,000 inhabitants knows perfectly well how to combine living tradition with a culturally conscious present.
It is not without reason that the university town of Spittal, situated between education, culture and nature, presents itself as a true experience for body and soul. Cultural awareness, living tradition and a touch of southern serenity - these are the characteristics that make the "little historical town" so worth living in. Lake Millstätter See invites you to swim in summer, in winter the Goldeck is waiting for you to enjoy skiing. Shopping, cultivated gastronomy and cultural activities complement this perfectly. Studying in Spittal an der Drau is therefore a true experience for body, mind and soul!
