Study & Work Program at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences

With over 80 Study & Work partner companies and organizations, our university offers students the opportunity to combine studying and working!

Recommendations from the university to help you combine study and work as optimally as possible.

Study & Work for full-time students

Extent of employment: marginally up to 8h / week possible
Timetable: Some degree courses are organized so that Monday is a day off.

Study & Work for part-time students

Scope of employment: part-time up to max. 20 h / week possible
The timetable is organized in a work-friendly way (lectures at the end of the day, weekend, blocked or online).

Requirements & application

Requirements for admission to the Study & Work program:

Proper enrollment for a degree program at the CUAS
Timely online application for Study & Work within the application period
Depending on your degree program, you can apply to one or more companies

Application:

The application for Study & Work is only possible in the period from October 1st to October 31^st via our online portal.

Your application will be sent to the companies after the application deadline. If your profile is suitable, you will be contacted directly by the company and invited to an interview or hearing. Please contact studywork[at]fh-kaernten[dot]at if you have not received a response by the end of January. Study & Work offers you the opportunity to be employed part-time or marginally by one of our company partners, but does not guarantee a job placement.

Applications are only open to regular and already enrolled students of the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences. If you do not have a study place, you can apply for one of our degree programs here.

The online application for Study & Work will be available from October 1^st.

Advantages for students and companies

Advantages for students

Students have the opportunity to get in touch with potential employers right at the start of their studies. Depending on the company, fixed part-time employment contracts or internships are awarded, which allow an optimal combination of theory and practice. Additionally, students have the opportunity to study in a goal-oriented manner and earn money at the same time. This provides a solid foundation for further professional development.

Advantages for companies

It is becoming increasingly difficult for companies to find highly qualified employees. The Study & Work program offers the possibility of early contact with selected students and the associated recruitment and retention of employees. It also gives companies the opportunity to confront students with practical issues that can be worked on in a theoretical framework. Companies receive potential applications from the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences once a year in November via the Study & Work job service. Students are selected directly by the company. Depending on whether the candidates study part- or full-time, employment is possible on a marginal or part-time basis (up to 20h / week). The employment contract is concluded between the company and the respective student.
