The policy brief presents key results from a multi-method visitor monitoring approach implemented in Dobratsch Nature Park. It demonstrates how data collected through visitor counting technologies, outdoor and fitness apps, and surveys can support science-based management decisions, helping to address challenges such as overcrowding and uneven tourism distribution.
Based on this analysis, a set of recommendations for visitor monitoring, guidance, and management has been developed. These emphasize the importance of continuous, long-term monitoring as well as strengthened cross-border cooperation practices.
