The project is divided into three primary thematic areas:
Analysis - This work package analyzes visitor flows in the Dobratsch and Prealpi Giulie Nature Parks to provide insights into the hotspots and low spots of the two parks. Concrete requirements and necessities for the future management of the parks can be derived from this analysis.
Exchange - Active awareness-building and appreciation of nature, linguistic diversity, culture, and peace are essential components for the preservation of the unique border region, its natural values, and the sustainable development of tourism.
Action - A total of four joint pilot actions on the themes of sustainable mobility, youth, sustainable tourism, and nature conservation enable the insights gained from the analysis to be implemented and tested directly.
Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) together with the University of Padua support examination of visitor flows in the two nature parks and tourism regions through identifying tourist hotspots and low spots, as well as developing targeted joint measures involving stakeholder groups. As digital technologies increasingly change outdoor activities, CUAS supports partners to understand visitor behavior on various outdoor platforms and integrate the findings into visitor monitoring and protected area management.
Goal:
The aim of the project is to establish cross-border sustainable tourism and cultural cooperation, which will be continued exemplarily and bindingly beyond the project’s duration through a concept of cooperative tourism. An analysis of the tourism infrastructure and a participatory stakeholder process, in close collaboration with responsible tourism organizations (Region Villach Tourismus and Tourism Organization Tarvisio) and established research institutions (University of Padua and CUAS), will promote awareness of sustainable tourism and cultural peace processes in the border region between the leading regional protected areas (Dobratsch Nature Park and Prealpi Giulie Nature Park).
Joint activities and close exchanges will strengthen trust in the region in the long term and make it fit for the European future. The project cooperation is based on important regulatory frameworks such as the EU Green Deal with its missions, the SDGs, and biodiversity strategies.

INDIALPS – Innovative und nachhaltige Tourismusentwicklung in der Alpen-Adria-Region
Das Interreg-Projektes INDIALPS beschäftigt sich mit den aktuellen grenzüberschreitenden Herausforderungen in der Alpen-Adria-Region und verfolgt das Ziel die Region langfristig und innovativ weiterzuentwickeln. Dabei sollen insbesondere neue grenzüberschreitende Angebote entstehen, welche sowohl mit den touristischen Zielen als auch mit dem Naturschutz im Einklang stehen.
Das Projekt gliedert sich in drei primäre Themenbereiche:
Analyse – Dieses Arbeitspaket analysiert die Besucher:innenströme im Naturpark Dobratsch und Prealpi Giulie und soll Aufschluss über Hot- und Lowspots der beiden Parks geben. Daraus lassen sich konkrete Anforderung und Notwendigkeiten für das zukünftige Management der Parks ableiten.
Austausch – Aktive Bewusstseinsbildung und Wertschätzung der Natur, Sprachenvielfalt, Kultur und Frieden sind essentielle Bestandteile für den Erhalt der einzigartigen Grenzregion, ihrer Naturwerte und die Weiterentwicklung des Tourismus im Sinne der Nachhaltigkeit.
Aktion – Insgesamt vier gemeinsame Pilotaktionen zu den Themen nachhaltige Mobilität, Jugend, nachhaltiger Tourismus und Naturschutz ermöglichen die gewonnen Erkenntnisse aus der Analyse direkt in die Tat umzusetzen und zu prüfen.
Die FH Kärnten gemeinsam mit der Universität Padua unterstützen die beiden Naturparke und Tourismusregionen bei der Untersuchung der Besucherströme durch die Identifizierung von touristischen Hotspots und Low Spots sowie der Entwicklung gezielter gemeinsamer Maßnahmen unter Einbindung von Stakeholder-Gruppen. Da digitale Technologien Outdoor-Aktivitäten zunehmend verändern, unterstützt die FH Kärnten die Partner dabei, das Verhalten von Nutzer:innen verschiedener Outdoor-Plattformen zu verstehen und diese Daten in das Besuchermonitoring und das Management von Schutzgebieten zu integrieren.
Ziel:
Das Ziel des Projekts ist die Etablierung einer grenzüberschreitenden nachhaltigen touristischen und kulturellen Zusammenarbeit, die durch ein kooperatives Tourismuskonzept beispielhaft und verbindlich über den Projektzeitraum hinaus weitergeführt wird. Eine Analyse der touristischen Infrastruktur sowie ein partizipativer Stakeholder:innenprozess sollen in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den verantwortlichen Tourismusorganisationen (Region Villach Tourismus und Tourismusorganisation Tarvis) und etablierten Forschungsinstitutionen (Universität Padua und FH Kärnten) das Bewusstsein für nachhaltigen Tourismus und kulturelle Friedensprozesse in der Grenzregion zwischen den führenden regionalen Schutzgebieten (Naturpark Dobratsch und Naturpark Prealpi Giulie) fördern.
Gemeinsame Aktivitäten und ein enger Austausch werden langfristig das Vertrauen stärken und die Region fit für die europäische Zukunft machen. Die Projektkooperation basiert auf wichtigen Regelwerken wie dem EU Green Deal mit seinen Missionen, den SDGs und den Biodiversitätsstrategien.

INDIALPS – Sviluppo turistico innovative e sostenibile nella regione Alpe-Adria
Il progetto Interreg INDIALPS affronta le sfide transfrontaliere attuali della regione Alpe-Adria e ha come obiettivo lo sviluppo innovativo e sostenibile della regione a lungo termine. In particolare, si vogliono creare nuove offerte turistiche transfrontaliere che rispettino sia gli obiettivi turistici e che la conservazione della natura.
Il progetto è suddiviso in tre blocchi tematici:
Analisi – Questo pacchetto di lavoro analizza i flussi di visitatori nei Parchi Naturali Dobratsch e Prealpi Giulie e mira a fornire informazioni sui cosiddetti “punti caldi e bassi” dei due parchi. A base di questi risultati si ricaveranno requisiti e necessità concrete per la gestione futura dei due parchi.
Scambio – Creare sensibilità e imparare a rispettare e apprezzare la natura, la diversità linguistica e culturale nonché la pace sono essenziali per poter proteggere questa regione di confine unica, i suoi patrimoni naturali e consolidare un turismo ai fini della sostenibilità.
Azione – Quattro azioni pilota transfrontaliere sui temi mobilità sostenibile, gioventù, turismo sostenibile e conservazione della natura consentono direttamente di studiare e approvare i risultati dell'analisi.
L'Università di Scienze Applicate della Carinzia (FH Kärnten) e l'Università di Padova sostengono i due parchi naturali e le regioni turistiche nell'analisi dei flussi di visitatori, identificando gli hotspot e i low spot turistici e sviluppando misure concrete di gestione con il coinvolgimento degli stakeholder regonali . Poiché l’impatto delle tecnologie digitali sulle attività all'aperto è sempre più forte, l'Università di Scienze Applicate della Carinzia aiuta i partner a comprendere meglio il comportamento degli utenti di varie applicazioni per attività sportive all'aperto e nell'integrazione di questi dati nel monitoraggio dei visitatori e nella gestione delle aree protette.
Obiettivo:
Il progetto ha l’obiettivo distabilire una cooperazione transfrontaliera sostenibile nell’ambito turistico e culturale, che sarà portata avanti attraverso un’idea di turismo cooperativo che prosegua oltre la durata del progetto. L'analisi dell'infrastruttura turistica e un processo partecipativo degli stakeholder in stretta collaborazione con le organizzazioni turistiche responsabili (Region Villach Tourismus e Organizzazione Turistica Tarvisio) e gli istituti di ricerca (Università di Padova e Università di Scienze Applicate della Carinzia) promuoveranno consapevolezza per un turismo sostenibile e per i processi di pace nella regione di confine tra le principali aree protette regionali (Parco Naturale del Dobratsch e Parco Naturale Prelpi Giulie).
Le attività e lo stretto scambio rafforzeranno la fiducia a lungo termine e renderanno la regione adatta al futuro europeo. La cooperazione del progetto si basa su importanti normative come il Green Deal dell'UE con le sue missioni, gli SDG e le strategie per la biodiversità.
