CoMon: Participation in the 2nd Africa-UniNet General Assembly in Kenya

The 2nd General Assembly of the Austrian-African Research Network | Africa-UniNet took place from 17th – 19th of October 2022 at Egerton University in Kenya as a platform for networking, knowledge sharing and future collaboration.

The CoMon project team, represented by Dr. Daniel Mengistu from Bahir Dar University, participated in this event and gave a poster presentation on the project “Collaborative Monitoring for Sustainable Development of UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Lake Tana (Ethiopia)”.

Participants in all current Africa-UniNet research projects had the chance to give a poster presentation during the general assembly. During the poster presentation tour the interested audience was able to learn about the project objectives and activities. In addition, there were presentations from participating universities and matchmaking sessions between African and Austrian universities. Participants introduced their research interests and discussed potential Austrian-African cooperation in research and higher education Erasmus+, the EU’s flagship education and training programme for student and staff mobility, was presented to the participating universities.
