Under the high patronage of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, Sorbonne University hosted on 5 May 2025 a landmark event dedicated to the future of European research and innovation: Choose Europe for Science. The event gathered top-tier political and academic leaders, marking a powerful affirmation of Europe’s commitment to open science, academic freedom, and excellence in research. The ACE²-EU European University Alliance was represented by Professor Luminița-Georgeta Popescu, Rector of Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu, Romania, underscoring the alliance’s active involvement in shaping the future of higher education and research in Europe.
