Students know the essential properties of DC and AC circuits and are able to study them using the methods of circuit analysis. Likewise, they are able to exploit the special properties of AC circuits with the methods of different frequency transformations and to analyze these circuits.
They know the main characteristics and possible applications of semiconductor devices such as diodes, MOSFETs and bipolar transistors, and can analyze and design circuits using these devices. They are able to analyze and design circuits with operational amplifiers.

The course covers the following topics/contents:

  • DC and AC circuits
  • Circuit analysis methods
  • Special AC topics
  • Semiconductor components
  • Semiconductor circuits
  • Operational amplifiers

  • C. K. Alexander, M. N. O. Sadiku, Fundamentals of Electric Circuits, 7th ed., McGraw-Hill Companies, 2020
  • R. C. Jaeger, T. Blalock, Microelectronic Circuit Design, 6th ed., McGraw-Hill Companies, 2022

Teaching and learning content based on videos, exercises and discussion in face-to-face or online units, remote labs with assessment of protocols.

Immanent examination character: Protocol evaluation of the remote labs and written final examination.
