Specific know-how in the field of computer science management. On one hand, e-governance, the challenges of using ICT in the public administration and on the other hand geoinformatics. Geoinformatics is a topic of particular relevance for the management, as many administrative procedures have a geographic reference and many management systems are accordingly linked to geographical information systems.

The course provides the theoretical foundations of geoinformatics and spatial data infrastructure. Practical examples of the use and applications of geoinformatics in the context of public administration is discussed and analyzed. Areas: spatial data and spatial data infrastructure policy in Austria, public Geoservices, GIS and e-government.
