On successful completion of the course, students:

  • Can identify the main challenges of studying and proactively develop action strategies to successfully overcome them.
  • Can orient themselves well in the university setting and they can reflect on their new role as a student.

The course will cover the following topics/content:

  • Welcome and introduction of the students to the study program
  • Presentation of the language program at the FH Kärnten
  • Presentation of the study programs and branches
  • Meet the Peer (practical reports from former graduates)
  • Expectations, values & mission statement of the study area
  • Presentation of the social activities at the FH Kärnten

The module grade is calculated weighted by the ECTS credits of the individual courses (ILV - integrated lecture) of the module and results as follows:
ILV "Active Start" - 1 ECTS
Assessment type: Continuous assessment
Assessment method/s: Portfolio, comprising a presentation and 3 written reflection papers or related exercises relative to modules components (courses) based on content covered and active participation. These will be awarded a participation grade if completed successfully.
