The course aims to impart basic knowledge in the field of capital market, mezzanine and start-up financing. After completing this course, students will be able to,
- Elaborate on different types of shares / stocks
- Explain the process of an IPO
- explain reasons and forms of capital increase of joint stock companies
- explain and discuss price developments of capital market instruments (esp. shares, bonds and funds)
- explain bond forms and set up simple redemption schedules
- Characterize the types of crowdfunding and outline the crowdfunding process
- explain which forms of financing are available to startups and what challenges are involved from the perspective of both founders and investors
