Overview of methods and fundamentals in the field of artificial intelligence. Students understand the basic concepts and know application areas.

This course provides an overview of the major areas of artificial intelligence. The following topics will be covered:

  • Neural Networks / Convolutional Network
  • Knowledge-based systems
  • Decision trees
  • Pattern recognition
  • Supervised & Unsupervised Learning
  • Collective intelligence
Individual examples are implemented using a selected programming language.

The following basic literature will be used in the course:

  • Russell S., Norvig P.: "Artificial intelligence: a modern approach", Pearson Study IT, 3rd edition, 2012;
  • Lunze J.: "Artificial Intelligence for Engineers", De Gruyter Oldenbourg Verlag, 2nd edition, 2010;
Further relevant literature will be announced during the course (if necessary).
