Upon the successful completion of the Language Immersion Course Italian 2, students will acquire the following competences regarding the Italian language:

  • communicate limited information in simple everyday situations
  • describe daily work routines, speak about jobs
  • use simply structures and conjunctions
  • understand high frequency vocabulary related to areas of high personal relevance (work, study, travel, shopping, weather, statistics)
  • exchange information on family-related topics
  • write personal messages and simple e-mails to a university
  • read and understand simple texts
  • ask for and give directions
  • report about a past event (holiday, accident, statistics)

This is a language course for slightly advanced students with basic knowledge of Italian (at CEF level A1-A2). The following language topics will be covered in this module:

  • Vocabulary and phrases related to shopping, local geography, my job, my studies, free time, the weather, clothes, body
  • Asking for and giving directions, travel program, guided city tour
  • Statistics, comparison, and preferences
  • Advertisements, prospectuses, menus, and timetables
  • Modal verbs
  • Prepositions
  • Imperative tense
  • Direct object pronouns
  • Past tense (imperfetto)
