Upon the successful completion of the Language Immersion Course Italian 2, students will acquire the following competences regarding the Italian language:
- communicate limited information in simple everyday situations
- describe daily work routines, speak about jobs
- use simply structures and conjunctions
- understand high frequency vocabulary related to areas of high personal relevance (work, study, travel, shopping, weather, statistics)
- exchange information on family-related topics
- write personal messages and simple e-mails to a university
- read and understand simple texts
- ask for and give directions
- report about a past event (holiday, accident, statistics)
This is a language course for slightly advanced students with basic knowledge of Italian (at CEF level A1-A2). The following language topics will be covered in this module:
- Vocabulary and phrases related to shopping, local geography, my job, my studies, free time, the weather, clothes, body
- Asking for and giving directions, travel program, guided city tour
- Statistics, comparison, and preferences
- Advertisements, prospectuses, menus, and timetables
- Modal verbs
- Prepositions
- Imperative tense
- Direct object pronouns
- Past tense (imperfetto)
