Professional skills and expertise
In this module, students will enhance their self-management and leadership competencies, refine their people management and teamwork skills, improve their decision-making abilities, and learn to effectively communicate and collaborate within global teams.
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
- discuss the role and responsibilities of a manager in an international business context
- evaluatedifferent leadership styles and behaviors to determine their effectiveness in various contexts
- explain how managers can effectively manage themselves
- develop strategies for motivating and developing other people, positively influencing their performance, and dealing with conflict situations
- discuss how managers can build and lead high-performance global teams
- apply decision-making tools for preparing and making rational decisions
- propose improvements for business processes in organizations
- implementresults-oriented management techniques to achieve both financial and non-financial organizational goals together with a team
Personal skills (problem-solving/critical thinking, social and communication skills, self-competence)
In this module, with respect to developing personal skills, students will:
- reflect on personal leadership styles and behaviors to identify areas for self-improvement and development
- foster an environment of trust and psychological safety within teams to encourage open communication and innovation
- implement strategies for enhancing team cohesion and productivity (also in intercultural and virtual settings)
- integrate learnings from study trips and guest lectures into personal leadership practice
Digital skills
In this module, students will acquire the following skills related to the use of digital technologies:
- describe the role of data analytics and artificial intelligence for supporting managerial decision-making processes
- explain which digital tools can be used for effective teamwork in global (virtual) teams
- analyze the impact of digital transformation on leadership practices in multinational organizations
