Improve and develop students' task-specific writing skills in preparation to writing Bachelor's work to include paper structure, formatting as well as usage of academic English. Students should be able to reference and cite sources correctly and accurately. Additionally, the course will focus on improving and expanding students' language abilities when presenting an academic paper.

Focus on specific writing techniques (gender-neutral, IMRAD, 5-paragraph essay, abstract) used in scientific journals and academic papers; distinction between register and style; conventions of register in academic writing and the development of personal style, including ways to convey writer's stance; genre-based citing and referencing guides; structure of paragraphs and inter-paragraph cohesion; appropriate grammar and vocabulary; differences between writing an academic paper and presenting it orally, training critical reading
