Upon the successful completion of the Language Immersion Course Italian 3, students will acquire the following competences regarding the Italian language:

  • describe a person physically and describe someone's personality
  • talk about clothes and sizes
  • talk about prices
  • describe a home, write a simple real estate advertisement
  • express desires and hopes
  • talk about health and common diseases
  • express themselves in a pharmacy or at the doctor's
  • ask for and give advices
  • talk about journeys, movies, and books
  • express simple opinions

This is a language course for slightly advanced students with basic knowledge of Italian (at CEF level A2-B1). The following language topics will be covered in this module:

  • different uses of the passato prossimotense and the imperfettotense
  • direct and indirect pronouns
  • connectives and time adverbs
  • imperative with pronouns
  • quantities ("molto", "troppo", "troppo poco",...)
  • condizionale presente
  • impersonal form
  • impersonal verbs (weather verbs such as "piovere", "nevicare")
  • future tense
