On successful completion of the course, students:
- Can explain the basics of digitization and business technologies as well as the essential areas of application and tasks of business software in the corporate context in a virtual cloud environment
- Understand the basics of information management and business information systems.
- Are able to describe the areas of application and possibilities of Social Enterprise/Enterprise 2.0 or collaborative systems and apply digital tools and methods to perform simple and practice-relevant tasks of digitization
- Can use the software products of the MS Office/Office365 family - with a focus on MS Word/Excel - in the context of operational tasks.
- Carry out tasks operationally in virtual teams and combine them with cloud applications.
- Analyze concrete and practice-relevant tasks and case studies and design appropriate solutions independently and in teams, incorporating simple methods of design thinking as well as statistical data sources and open data
The course will cover the following topics/content:
- Fundamentals of digitalization and business technologies
- Business software and information management in the operational context (meaning and purpose of information systems, trend towards the networked enterprise, challenges in design and deployment, information system: strategy and organization of value creation)
- Practical use of MS Office/Office 365 in the operational environment
