On successful completion of the course, students:

• Have gained insight into the political, economic and social idiosyncrasies of Italy based their historical background and Italy's institutions and cultural space and environment
• Understand historical, political, economic and sociocultural connections
• Recognize cultural forms of expression
• Understand ethnocentric self and other perceptions
• Are familiar with recent findings related to Italian cultural studies and can formulate and present research-based arguments in this field
• Can apply the knowledge acquired to discuss inter/cultural issues
