Students can explain the structural composition of main construction materials (e.g. binding materials, ceramics, glass, etc.) nd can derive their characteristic properties like mechanical strength, deformation and durability properties. Students can also explicate major practical aspects of the production process and the application of construction materials.

Basics in building chemistry and construction materials, strength and durability of construction materials, ardening reactions of binders like cement, lime, gypsum, masonry binders

* Natural stone: its origin and applications
