Upon the successful completion of the Language Immersion Course Slovene 2, students will acquire the following competencies related to the Slovene language:
- present their family members (characteristics and occupation)
- report about events in the past
- ask for specific quantities when shopping
- ask and give directions
- complete simple written tasks
- make simple telephone enquiries
- create a CV
- complete a job interview
- write a job-specific letter of application.
This is a language course for slightly advanced students with basic knowledge of Slovene (at CEF level A1-A2). The following language topics will be covered in this module:
- Consolidation of previously acquired structures and topics
- Improving oral and written communication skills
- Enlarging vocabulary based on previous knowledge and skills
- Introduction to relevant vocabulary for business situations
- Personal description and family
- Giving directions
- Simple written correspondence
- Basic telephone enquiries
- CV and job interview
- Presentation of current trends (comparisons between EU countries)
- Grammar (past tense, future tense, prepositions with the 2nd case, negation, quantities, imperatives)
