Students know the essentials of law and are able to differentiate the law from morality and ethics. They know the composition of the legal system, the distinction between public law and private law, federal law and state law. They can classify the terms human rights and fundamental rights. They have detailed knowledge of general contract law and statutory obligations. Furthermore, they recognise the basic types of contracts (purchase, gift, loan or acquired rights as well as contracts for work and services). The importance of property law, in particular the term "right in rem" is known.
