Students gain a fundamental impression of the focus of work of the established professorships of the degree program and impulses for possible innovative individual practical work projects.
Students, who do not meet the requirements of an undergraduate Completed bachelor's degree in Social Work, acquire basal knowledge of core themes of Social Work and receive an overview of the range of topics that can be focused on as part of Social Work in this post-graduate introductory phase. Students, who transfer to the Carinthia University of Applied Science for the degree program "Social Work: Development and Shaping", gain an impression of possible master thesis supervisors and thematic impulses for project papers and master theses.

Completed bachelor's degree

The course is designed as a lecture series given by the established professorships of the degree program. The lecturers present their own focuses of work, research projects, practice-orientated activities and current trends of relevant scientific discourses. In addition, a Moodle course is provided which allows students to deepen topics debated in lectures in further self-study, and allows newcomers to gain an insight into basic texts on Social Work (theoretical basis, relevant topics, professional fields and methods).

Recourse mainly to the provided materials in the Moodle course. Additional specialised literature will be named in the lecture series.
