Professional skills and expertise
In the master exam, students:

  • present their professional knowledge as well as their methodological competencies related to the curriculum of the master´s degree program
  • demonstrate their ability to explain how the topic of the master thesis and different subjects of the curriculum are connected
Personal skills (problem-solving/critical thinking, social and communication skills, self-competence)
In the master exam, students:
  • present the methodology and results of their master thesis in a clear, concise, and coherent way for an academic audience
  • actively participate in a discussion with experts related to the subjects of the curriculum of the master´s degree program
  • show their ability to critically reflect on issues related to the subjects in the curriculum

The master exam will be held in the form of an oral board examination. The examination board consists of three academically qualified examiners.
The exam consists of the following three parts:

  1. The presentation of the master thesis
  2. An oral examination that connects the topic of master thesis with the relevant subjects in the curriculum
  3. An oral examination about other subjects relevant to the curriculum

The relevant literature for the master exam is identified by the students themselves. Examiners can provide guidance with relevant literature suggestions for the preparation of the master exam.
