Shaping Ideas Across Borders
CUAS DMS Students Excel at International Innovation Project in Poland
Still in just the second semester of their Digital Marketing & Sales bachelor’s program at CUAS, students Philip Mitkov and July Japaridze are already making an international impact. Earlier this month, the two represented CUAS at a Blended Intensive Program (BIP) hosted by WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland—leaving a lasting impression with their creativity, collaboration and forward-thinking ideas.
An International Experience with Local Impact
The BIP brought together students from four different European universities—Belgium, Slovenia, Sweden and Austria—to explore Design Thinking as a method for real-world problem solving. Working in interdisciplinary teams, participants were challenged to tackle authentic issues affecting the host region.
Philip and July’s groups chose to focus on improving quality of life for elderly residents in Dąbrowa Górnicza. Through on-site research, creative workshops, and collaborative brainstorming, the team developed a visionary concept: a dedicated community center for seniors, complete with a sports and activity park to promote social connection and wellbeing across generations.
Winning Ideas, Real-World Solutions
One project didn’t just resonate with their fellow participants—it won over the jury as well. After a round of final presentations and evaluation, Philip’s team was selected as the winner of the BIP challenge, earning recognition for both innovation and social relevance.
“This was such a valuable and unforgettable experience,” said Philip. “Not just in terms of what we learned, but in how we were able to connect and collaborate with students from all over Europe.”
Digital Marketing & Sales: Bold Ideas, Real-World Impact
As students of the Digital Marketing & Sales program at CUAS, Philip and July are already applying their skills in innovative ways. The program places a strong emphasis on creative problem-solving, international collaboration and community engagement—all of which were at the heart of this successful project.
