Learning French and studying in France

Sonja Hammerschmid

Sonja Hammerschmid, Management student, spent one semester studying in French at EDHEC Business School Lille, in France.

Learning a foreign language, particularly for Hotel Management students, is particularly important. But it is harder than I thought because I only deal with French students during my classes. After class I am surrounded by other Erasmus students who all speak English, so I can practice both my English and French. Although my French is a little bit behind, I feel it is improving from day to day, even if I am a bit disappointed with my progress. My advice for future students going to France is to share a flat with a French family.
