International Circular Business Talks

In March, the online event series “International Circular Business Talks” will continue at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences. As part of the Exportoffensive project in cooperation with the Carinthia Chamber of Commerce and the State of Carinthia, two additional speakers will provide exclusive insights into global approaches, strategies, and business models for circular and sustainable business practices.

Circularity: Placing Sustainability at the Core of Business Growth and Resilience

Daniel Haltia, Global Circular Strategic Leader, IKEA 

Daniel Haltia holds a Master of Science in Innovation and Design from the Royal Institute of Technology and has already supported numerous large companies in technological, organizational, and innovation-driven transformation processes during his professional career.  

For the last decade, Daniel has been part of developing IKEA’s circularity strategy and building its Circular Innovation Department. He was the initial driving force behind IKEA’s second-hand movement, including its first second-hand store, and most recently the launch of the new IKEA second-hand marketplace. Today, he serves as IKEA’s Global Strategic Leader for Circular Business Models.

Stefan Merl, Leiter ESG Reporting, Klima und Kreislaufwirtschaft, PwC Österreich 
Florentin Artner, Experte Klima und Kreislaufwirtschaft, PwC Österreich 

Stefan Merl is Head of ESG Reporting, Climate, and Circular Economy at PwC Austria. Born in Carinthia, he has been advising companies in a wide range of industries for over 15 years, with a focus on sustainability for the past ten years. His focus is on sustainability reporting, climate strategies, and the circular economy. Stefan Merl is a member of various working groups in the field of sustainability, author of numerous specialist articles and studies, and lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten.

Florentin Artner is an expert in waste and circular economy at PwC Austria. For over five years, he has been helping companies tap into the potential of circular business models along the value chain and implement concrete steps toward decarbonization.
