The project aims to enhance the scientific understanding and practical implementation of conservation strategies in the face of climate change. It plays a crucial role in fostering research, education, and international collaboration to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.
The Intergovernmental Climate Change Commission, or ICCC, actively engage with international stakeholders, including the Austrian MAB Committee, the Austrian UNESCO Commission, and global conservation networks, to develop an Austrian contribution. The project contributes to Austria’s involvement in UNESCO initiatives, particularly in the context of biosphere reserves and climate adaptation strategies.
Through workshops, academic research, and participation in international conferences, the ICCC Project supports knowledge exchange and capacity-building efforts. Its goal is to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation and develop actionable strategies for the sustainable management of protected areas worldwide.
