CUAS Now Chairs the University Association for Information Science (HI)

FH-Prof. Dr. Stefan Dreisiebner, Professor of Digital Business Management at the School of Management at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS), was elected as the new Chair of the University Association for Information Science (HI) as of March 31, after having served on the board for several years.

The HI is the academic professional society for German-speaking information science. It serves as the official representative body of the field within the German-speaking region, acting as a liaison to other academic and professional associations. The primary mission of the University Association for Information Science is to strengthen research and teaching in information science across German-speaking countries. It promotes knowledge and technology transfer both within academia and between academia, industry, and government. This is achieved through the organization of scientific symposia and conferences (especially the International Symposium for Information Science – ISI), the publication of scientific works (including the HI publication series), the awarding of the Gerhard Lustig Prize (a prestigious award for early-career researchers), and the dissemination of research findings in information science to the broader public.

This appointment also marks a historic first in the association’s more than 35-year history: it is the first time that the chair has been assumed by an Austrian.

This not only highlights the excellence of research at CUAS, but also significantly enhances its visibility and recognition within the international academic community.
