The European Universities Office is pleased to introduce the newly published EUI Activities Report 2025, which documents a milestone year for Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) within the European Universities Initiative (EUI). As the only Austrian higher education institution selected in the 2024 call, CUAS began to enhance its implementation initiatives as a founding member of the ACE²-EU Alliance.

The collaborative efforts of the staff and the students in integrating the Alliance into the core structures of our university are highlighted in this year's report. 2025 served as a crucial year of groundwork, with CUAS taking on a strategic role within the network. Notably, the ARIES Incubator, dedicated to advancing joint research and entrepreneurship, came to life under CUAS leadership, and CUAS plays a key role in the SPACE Centre, acting as co-lead and spearheading one of its operational units, the Social Impactors, which aim to foster the societal engagement efforts of the ACE²-EU community.

The document also showcases a vibrant series of early pilot events and activities. From hosting the first ARC Knowledge Creation Team Workshop and the 5th ACEploration event in Villach in December, to student participation at the ACE²-EU Annual Congress and Kaleidoscope Culture Festival in Ingolstadt in October, CUAS demonstrated a remarkable level of international involvement.

Looking ahead to the year 2026, CUAS is ready to move from the stage of structural development into full-scale implementation, and continuing to provide an increasingly diverse range of international learning, mobility opportunities, and research to our entire university community.

Finally, the report also highlights the ongoing collaboration of CUAS with other European University alliances and the EUI as a whole, with a specific focus in Part 4 on broader contribution to the EUI ecosystem beyond the ACE²-EU alliance.
