CEEMAN Champions Award for Dietmar Sternad

Professor Dietmar Sternad, Program Director of the International Business Management master’s program, was announced as the winner of the 2021 CEEMAN Champions Award as a "Teacher of the Year" by CEEMAN - International Association for Management Development, a global network of management development institutions with 200 members from 50 countries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

The CEEMAN Champions Award recognizes outstanding achievements in the categories of teaching, research, responsible management education, and institutional management. Professor Sternad won the teaching category with an original innovative teaching methodology, the IB.sim International Business Simulation.

The simulation was developed and implemented in the CUAS International Business Management program. The core of this teaching methodology is a simulation game in which students get the chance to explore the challenges of internationalization and of creating and running a global business in a very engaging and interactive way. The simulation was successfully used in a teaching collaboration between CUAS and Skidmore College (USA), in which over 100 students from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean participated in a highly interactive joint learning experience.
