Students have the option of obtaining two degrees at the same time through the double-degree program (DDP) of the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) in cooperation with the Finnish Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (JAMK) - in the fields of health management and social work.

The DDP is an initiative of the study programs with the aim of strengthening the European dimension in studies, thus opening up international career opportunities for students. It also enables students to make international contacts and take a broader perspective on the health care system.

Why do/should students participate and do extra work?

Their expectations are i.e.

  • … to make (bi-)inter-national experiences
  • … to be a part (builder) of (bi-)inter-national networks
  • … to get into contact with other universities
  • … to learn about other (Finnish) health care or social systems
  • … to learn about other (Finnish) cultures and societies
  • … to learn from each other
  • … to improve English language skills
  • … to repeat the good experiences of former participants/alumni

The DDP tries to fulfill the long list of students’ expectations in building a common learning platform with study stays in both countries. The program comprises 30 ECTS. These are integrated into the curricula of the master programs and include two international study weeks (Summer School at JAMK and Spring School at the CUAS), a specific offer of online courses, the master thesis, and optionally one or two internship weeks.
