During the 4th Semester of my Intercultural Management studies, we had a Project Management (PM) Module. This Module is designed to give you a skill set of PM assets and prepare you for a potential job in the field of PM after your studies. We worked on real life projects with companies and institutions. My Team and I worked on a project called “Blitzdefense”. In the forming phase of our project, we were a group, thinking of our own tasks first and not seeing the big picture. After some clarifications in the storming phase, we started to become a team. We had a common goal, which was specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based (SMART).  At the end, we proved our organizational skills and achieved a great outcome.

In the following semester we started thinking about where and in which field we want to do our internships. The PM Module aroused my interest and I applied for the position “Technical Project Assistant” at Infineon Technologies. The internship includes tasks such as organizing meetings, writing meeting minutes, setting up timetables, powerpoints, excels, and preparing for steering meetings. Tasks such as managing resources, monitoring the project progress, and communicating with stakeholder became a routine. Furthermore, are the skill set of Microsoft Office essential. During the Internship, I appreciated the offered flexibility and that I was able to take initiative in developing solutions to the problems I identified. Additionally, I was able to expand my network and gain valuable experience working with a large multinational corparation. Ultimately, the experience to work at Infineon Technologies Austria taught me a great lesson about project management, problem-solving, and working collaboratively with others. I´m confident that the skills and knowledge I gained will be invaluable as I move forward in my career, and I remain grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a respected and innovative company, in which I will continue to work for one more year as a intern.
