The International Day on 4.12.2025 was a vibrant festival of cultures that placed internationalisation at its centre. Over 25 students and staff members with international backgrounds actively shaped the day: they cooked traditional dishes, presented musical performances, and provided in-depth insights into their own cultures. The event offered a unique platform to honour and celebrate the immense diversity and intercultural exchange.
A special highlight was the keynote speech by Jim Hetherton, who inspired the participants with his presentation on the "7 Habits of Most Effective People," thereby contributing to personal development.
Moreover, both Rector Peter Granig and the new Managing Director Martin Waiguny affirmed the importance of internationalization in their welcoming address.
The International Day provided the ACE²–EU Alliance with the opportunity to showcase key developments of its first alliance year. In this context, selected pilot formats for joint teaching offers, such as a European module on sustainable digitalization, as well as new mobility and staff exchange programmes, were presented. The partners also worked on joint research initiatives (including a focus on energy and climate resilience) and gave a brief outlook on the planned Summer School 2026.
The International Day 2025 was a complete success, celebrating the joy of the international community and making internationalisation wonderfully tangible at our institution. We thank all participants for their commitment to this unique celebration of diversity and cooperation.
