Students should understand the tasks of analysis and design in software development and be able to apply the basic techniques and procedures of object-oriented modeling with UML.
Database systems, object-oriented programming
 The course includes the following main topics:
- Task of analysis and design in software development
 - Modeling static and dynamic aspects of a software system with UML: 
- Class diagrams
 - Use Case Diagrams
 - Sequence diagrams
 - State diagrams
 - Activity diagrams
 
 
 The following basic literature will be used in the course:
- M.Hitz, G.Kappel: UML@Work Von der Analyse zu Realisierung, dpunkt.verlag, 2nd edition, 2003;
 - B.Oesterreich: Objektorientierte Softwareentwicklung, Analyse und Design mit der UML 2, 7th edition (or higher), Oldenbourg, 2005;
