Students are able to analyse determinants of health from different perspectives. They are familiar with methods of needs assessment, fundamentals of survey research and documentation in medicine and nursing as well as with population projections and sampling methods. They are able to develop appropriate ways of measuring. Students also know how to ensure data quality and are familiar with formal requirements of clinical studies.

Fundamentals of survey-research: theory of sampling, practical sampling methods
Basic knowledge of documentation in medicine and nursing
Developing appropriate ways of measuring: questionnaire, interview, CAPI, CATI
Measurement errors, ensuring data quality
Formal requirements of clinical studies (GCP/ICH)
Delphi method: selection of experts, quality assurance of expert interviews
Statistical methods for quality assurance
Techniques of risk adjustment
