In the course "Elements of Self-Management" students can choose between 3 elective blocks:
Elective block 1:
- Students are able to reflect on their own resources and stresses with regard to their ability to perform and study
- Students are able to describe the importance of stress management and time management as well as the promotion of self and social competencies for successful studying
- They are able to derive the importance of self and team management for everyday university life from the experiences gained in the course.
- Students will be able to define their own strengths and expertise and will be able to design a strategy for their own personal Branding
- They will be able to identify their goals and target audience for self-marketing and determine the approach needed to achieve those goals
- Mathematics Bridging Course
The course will cover the following topics/content:
- Elective Block 1:
Basics of time management
Basics of stress management
- Elective Block 2:
Basics of Personal Branding
- Elective Block 3:
The elective block " Mathematics Bridging Course" prepares students without pressure for the advanced courses in Financial Mathematics and Statistics in the following semesters.

Cumulative module examination
The module grade is calculated weighted by the ECTS credits of the individual courses (ILV - integrated lecture) of the module and results as follows:
ILV "Elements of Self-Management" - 2 ECTS
Assessment type: Continuous assessment
Assessment method/s: Portfolio, comprising a presentation and 3 written reflection papers or related exercises relative to modules components (courses) based on content covered and active participation. These will be awarded a participation grade if completed successfully.
Mathematics Bridging Course: Portfolio with 6 level tests - at least 4 (unscored) level tests must be taken to achieve the rating "successfully participated"
