  • EDU-CIRC is an awareness-raising and training initiative to accelerate the long-term potential of the circular economy and decarbonization in manufacturing companies. Its goal is to equip young people from vocational and upper secondary schools, students in higher education, teachers, as well as professionals from industry and the trades with fundamental principles, methods, tools, and best-practice applications—thereby closing the current education gap across borders and generations and speeding the transition toward circular and carbon-neutral production.

The teaching materials, pedagogical methods, and education/training measures developed in the project have a high degree of practical relevance, as they are based on three value chains of particular importance to the Alpine region:

    1. Wood processing
    2. Construction
    3. Automotive

Following an initial analysis and mapping of the sourcing, use, and re-/repurposing of materials within companies, target group-specific teaching materials will be created and made openly available on the EDU-CIRC portal. The development and implementation of education and training offerings, Circular Factory Tours, and cross-border Circularity Hackathons round off the initiative.
