A fortunate group of 50 Austrian and international students were ultimately able to participate in the day's adventure. Such excursions are a key part of the integration process, offering a valuable opportunity for students to connect with peers outside the formal university setting.
Although the morning began with grey, misty weather in the valley, a cable car ride transformed the day. The journey upward pierced through the cloud cover, delivering the group to a sun-drenched peak. The breathtaking panoramic view was the perfect reward. At the summit, participants enjoyed a refreshing walk, taking in the crisp mountain air and incredible scenery.
The hike was followed by a well-deserved lunch at the cozy Pacheiner Alpengasthof. The relaxed alpine setting proved to be a perfect catalyst for intercultural exchange. Away from the lecture hall, conversations flowed easily between Austrian and international students, allowing them to find common ground, practice language skills, and share experiences. After the meal, the group split. Some opted for a comfortable cable car ride down, while the more adventurous embarked on a hike to the Kanzelbahn middle station, offering another chance to enjoy the beautiful alpine landscape up close.
The IRO was delighted with the success of this event, which effectively promoted communication and strengthened the student community. This trip is just the beginning; students should keep an eye on official channels for announcements about more exciting events to come.
