From April 22–25, representatives from the Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG) visited Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS), further strengthening the partnership between the two ACE²-EU member institutions. Anna Szpiganowicz, Head of the Department of Research Projects, and Mateusz Kirjak, Head of the Project Implementation Unit, participated in an intensive three-day program across multiple CUAS campuses.

One of the key outcomes of the visit was MUG’s proposal to develop a blended intensive program for early-career researchers, aiming to equip young academics with essential skills for securing third-party funding and advancing their research careers. CUAS was approached as a leading potential partner due to its proven track record in successfully attracting Horizon project funding.

The visit reflected both universities’ strong commitment to mutual learning and international research collaboration. During their stay, Anna and Mateusz met with CUAS Rector Peter Granig, representatives of the FH Research department, and several researchers from the School of Health and Social Work. Discussions focused on research support strategies and opportunities for joint researcher training. The program also featured campus tours in Villach and Klagenfurt, with particular attention to facilities at Campus Primoschgasse and Campus St. Veiterstraße.

This visit marks another step in the growing collaboration between MUG in Poland and CUAS in Austria, underscoring the importance of international academic mobility and cooperation in strengthening partnerships in the ACE²-EU Alliance.
