The main aim of this study is to support the European Commission update the 2015 ECTS Users’ Guide by undertaking research in the European Higher Education Area on the level of implementation of ECTS in practice in line with the current guide, and the usefulness of the current guide as experienced by staff and students.

The scope of the research includes 80 HEIs: 10 HEIs from the following eight countries: Austria, Bulgaria, France, Ireland, North Macedonia, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden. The research activities include desk research, an online survey for staff and students, two focus group discussions per country plus three consultation meetings that will be conducted in the latter stage of the project.

One of the consultation meeting took place at CUAS campus in Villach on 27.05.2025. Discussion round were organized with both: students and staff.

CUAS is pleased to contribute to the update of this important guide for higher education institutions.
