Students are capable of
- conducting a physiotherapeutic process in the field of orthopaedics (extremities).
- drawing up a therapy plan and implementing it according to scientific insights.
- adapting the dosage of the therapeutic measures to suit the course of the particular disease and the needs of the patients.
- applying, evaluating and reflecting on physiotherapeutic techniques on the basis of patient cases.
The course deals with the following subjects:
- Physiotherapeutic process in orthopaedics (extremities)
- Shoulder area: Impingement, forms of tendinosis, tendinopathy, frozen shoulder, instability, arthrosis, TEP (total endoprosthesis)
- Elbows: Epicondylitis, arthrosis
- Hand/wrist joint: Compression syndromes, arthroses of the finger joints
- Hip joint: Dysplasia, impingement, arthroses, hip TEP
- Knee joint: Patellofemoral pain syndrome, Osgood Schlatter disease, recurrent patellar luxation, corrective osteotomy, varus/valgus gonarthrosis, knee TEP
- Foot: Deformities of the arch and toes, tendinopathies, arthrodesis, insoles
- Special treatment techniques: Functional massage treatments, mobilising massage, cross-friction
