On 21 April we began our next Nature Conservation Engineer coursework at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences.

Our motivated students come from the fields of biology, ecology, and civil engineering. During the first weekend of the course, the students learned all about amphibians and birds with exciting excursions.

In the one-year training programme, an expansive overview of relevant practical nature conservation methods is offered in order to:

- carry out official conservation requirements in construction projects in accordance with the state-of-the-art technologies;
- implement nature conservation projects of associations, initiatives, and municipalities in an appropriate manner; and
- successfully organise nature conservation and species protection measures in the private and public sectors.

There is a need for practically trained nature conservation specialists across a wide range of applied fields, including construction site management and public administration. Planning offices, construction companies, nature conservation institutions, and municipalities also need this specialised expertise.
