As part of the course SEE/CEE Business Environment, a class of 29 international students (Austria, Italy, Germany, Egypt etc.) and their lecturers headed off to Belgrade for a 3-day trip starting on November 30th 2016.

It was our objective to gain some insight of the business environment in Serbia but also to learn about the challenges Serbia faces in order to become member of the European Union. The first appointment was at Advantage Austria, where we got very practical insight into the work of a trade Commissioner and discussed potential challenges but also fields of interests for foreign and Austrian firms when investing in Serbia. The second day started with a very interesting appointment at Vip mobile d.o.o., a Serbian mobile network operator and member of the Telekom Austria Group founded in 2007. In the afternoon the participants saw the points of interest during a guided city tour in the old town of Belgrade. Our last day started with a visit to the Delegation of the European Union, where the efforts made to become Serbia member of the EU were presented. The last appointment was at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Serbia, where the group was given new perspectives into the economic performance but also the present and future potentials of Serbia. Mission completed, we headed back to CUAS enriched by both economic and cultural aspects of life and business in Serbia.
