• The Carinthia University of Applied Sciences is EMAS certified. The report for the "1st environmental audit" as well as a "management manual" have been prepared, including a mission statement for the environmental management system, which includes all campuses, study programs and research areas as well as the Center for Further Education. First internal trainings for a successful implementation of the environmental management system for employees also took place.

    Our aims are:

    • reducing our emissions and ecological footprint (e.g. by travelling less)
    • implementing measures regarding the use of energy
    • saving resources

  • Students on the Master degree program in Architecture have developed an innovative roof tile that optimally regulates the temperature on the roof surface throughout the year. This prevents both living spaces and cities from overheating. The two UAS graduates Joseph Gansger and Julien Presland have since founded the company Solution Zero with the aim of making a contribution to climate neutrality in the construction industry.

  • The first Campus Clean-up Day took place in April 2023 to set an example for a clean environment. Further corridor clean-ups will follow in the future.
  • We have installed a climate-friendly green roof on the “Spittl“ (CUAS building in Spittal).
  • In the future, we would like to offer carpooling possibilities. We also work on a concept for eco-friendly travel.
